Hi Maddy, I have an important question for you. In today’s social media age, where photos spring up online almost as soon as they are taken, what is your advice on re-wearing a dress to wedding that your friends have probably already seen on your facebook page?

I have a question too! What’s your take on short lengths for body and age variations? Does being over 25 mean we have to veer into jort territory?

Good question! I like shorts (not jorts, of course!) but I know it can be tricky to pick a flattering pair. Stay tuned for some specific advice, Samantha, just in time for the summer.

    Dear Style Me Thrifty,

I need your advice! Recently I picked up my spring/fall lightweight khaki trench coat from the dry cleaners and much to my horror they had lost the matching belt! Despite my numerous inquiries and protests they have yet to find my lost belt. Do you have any suggestions for a “replacement belt”? I don’t want to try to find a perfect match because, inevitably, it will not be a perfect match. The trench is Banana Republic circa 3 seasons ago so there is no hope for getting a replacement belt from them! The trench coat has belt loops so I really can’t get away with ignoring the fact that the belt is missing. Help!

    Signed,

A fallen angel without a belt

    Dear Style Me Thrifty,

I need your help. I’m 26 years old and keep getting asked if I’m visiting from college! While I’m fine with looking younger than my age (everyone tells me that will come in handy down the road), I don’t want to come across as lacking maturity.

I find it happens most when I’m running errands on the weekends or coming from the gym. My errand/gym uniform usually consists of a t-shirt and gym shorts with my hair in a ponytail. How can I improve my errand wear without sacrificing comfort (I will never be able to set foot in a mall in heels) and without breaking the bank?

Most importantly, how can I do an easy, functional ponytail that looks more sophisticated? I think the ponytail could be a huge factor in all of this. I look much younger with my hair back and I’m not very good at styling my hair in up-dos.

Any help you could provide would be wonderful. Thank you!

    Maddy–

This may be less of a Style Me Thrifty question, and more of a Style Me Quickly issue, but I’m sure you’re the right lady for the job! I’m on my second straight month of 80-90 hour work weeks, and as you might imagine, my styling routine has gone straight down the gutter. I don’t have time to pick an outfit, shower, put on makeup, blow dry and style my hair before I have to run out the door to catch the bus to the office. I even resorted to cutting off my hair in an attempt to look less haggard, but I still need help.

Do you have any tips for saving time and energy in the morning while still looking professional at an office that requires business attire?

    You’re the best!
    Kate

    Madeline,

I adore your blog its like a little treasure I stumbled upon! I have a question! I’m going to a bridal shower in two weeks and want to look fabulous and skinny because i haven’t seen these girls since high school. Do you have any tips for how to make your self look thinner?
