Fun with Fingerless Gloves

13 Jan

Get ready to channel your inner Madonna because it’s time to invest in some cute, on-trend, fingerless gloves for winter.

Sure, mittens and regular gloves are the obvious choice during cold months, but why not change up your routine with some cute and practical fingerless gloves? They’ll keep your my hands warm without getting in the way of tweeting on your iPhone, reapplying lipstick or paying for your morning Starbucks coffee. Hot and handy!

The good news is that most retailers are currently marking down their cold-weather accessories, so get ’em while they’re hot… and the weather is still cold!

Spotlight on GapBodyFit

GapBodyFit

I’ve fallen in love with a new line of workout gear: GapBodyFit. I went to Tysons Corner Mall on Sunday to check out Gap’s activewear line. After an hour of trying everything on and totally going over the fitting room limit (seriously, what’s with the 6 item rule?!), I emerged with a few new treasures that I can’t wait to sweat in. And the best part? I didn’t break the bank.

I would describe GapBodyFit as stylish and functional, while still being a little understated. Let me break it down.

Colors
Super flattering. Blacks, greys, lilacs, “pumice purple,” and blues dominates their selection right now. I found a few pops of hot pink and neon green, but it was never obnoxious.

Fabric
I’m digging the wicking material that Gap uses. It’s breathable but still thick enough that you don’t have to worry about see-through-syndrome when doing squats in Body Pump (I swear this happens more times than ladies realize… just one of the many reasons I avoid the back row in group classes!).

Fit
Kudos to Gap for making their bottoms the perfect rise. Not too low, not too high. I think it’s super annoying when workout brands make their bottoms too low rise (I’m looking at you, lululemon). Note about size: I usually wear a size medium but found that I went down a size in most GapBodyFit items. Also, their running skirts (with built in spandex shorts) are super cute but super SHORT, so I recommend those for my pole dancing fitness friends only…

Price
Not only was everything affordable, it was on sale! The long sleeved running top (with thumb holes!) is my new coveted item. I plan on wearing it to the Monument Avenue 10K in April. I even bought two knowing my sis would want one (you owe me $13!). I also bought a pair of shorts for $25 and a neon green nylon gym bag for only $13. Tip: shop in person if you can. I noticed the same items cost more online.
